Whats next to add to ham shack?
I have a 2 meter radio, power supply, antenna. all are working great but what after this would you add to your shack? accessories? Just feel like I'm on the air but where do I go now?

I personally have a C.B. All band all mode HF with power source and antenna tuner. VHF, UHF, fan dipole and a 10 and 11 meter (two separate)vertical antennas. It mostly depends on what you want and want to do.

11m has been absolutely amazing for the past month now here in the US. I talked to a few guys in the Blue Ridge Mountains (from Minnesota) from my barefoot DX979 in the truck yesterday after doing a frequency alignment. It was a bit challenging to hear them through all the DX so knowing I was getting through the chaos on low power made it fun . The other day Scotland and Australia were in there too. I want to get into CW someday but not yet.
I want to be able to talk with states from texas to Minnesota as I am in Nebraska.
Really just wondering what peoples next step would be if they started over, go slow get a few... (???)

The next step is a general or extra class license. Get some study material and prepare for the next text. While you are doing that, get a decent HF radio and some means of checking antennas like an SWR meter or antenna analyzer.
Any suggestions on HF radio?
Icom IC-718 would be a very nice one to start with. Well priced and sounds great on the air.
lay down some nice, expensive coax?

The BIGGEST BANG for the buck is still the Kenwood TS 590
If you are going to go HF you need to invest in a true 50 ohm dummy load, a good SWR / Power meter.
If you aren't particular you can build some inexpensive antennas for 6 meters SSB, put up a tower and a Off Center Fed antenna for HF & 6 meters.

The MMDVM was a great edition for me, especially since the local D-Star repeater moved out of range of the handheld aerial.
I also like the shack clock I got from QRP-Labs, along with the GPS unit, very useful.
