    Default Tram 1480 V.S. Diamond F22A

Hello! I'm thinking about buying a new antenna for use on the two meter band, and I have narrowed it down to these two antennas:

    • Diamond F22A
    • Tram 1480

I am planning to raise the antenna to at least 25 feet of the ground. It will also be used with a Kennwood TM-281 and be fed with 40 or so feet of RG-213 coax or better.

The antenna only need to work on the two meter band, I'm not really interested in 70cm.

Is the Diamond F22A worth the extra cost? Or should I just go with the Tram 1480?

Or maybe there is yet another antenna I'm not even considering that would be even a better deal...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I considered both and went with the tram 1480. I get 1:1 in the middle of the band. Mines about 25' up. I've gotten several compliments on my signal.

It's only been up about 3 months but I have no regrets. Does pretty OK for GMRS too, about 1.5:1
