Default Keying-up sets of the burglar alarm!

    Hi,
Just moved in to a new house with a fitted burglar alarm. When I key-up on HF, the alarm goes off. I'd prefer not to permanently disable the alarm as it's quite useful for deterring burglars! I can't find any fuse or isolator switch for it. Can anyone offer any advice?

I’ve had that happen before, where is your antenna located in reference to the alarm system ?

Hi thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately there are no trees nearby so most of my dipole is wrapped around 3 sides of the house. It runs directly above the bell box - could this be where the RF is being picked up?

Yep, RF is getting into that system. There could be other ways to fix the problem but if you can get the antenna further away from that box that would be good.
