    What frequency on 10 meters is commonly used ? Iím a technician, just got my shack started , I sure would like to make my first contact

    For a technician license, you are limited to CW operation between 28.000 and 28.300 and SSB operation between 28.300 and 28.500. As for calling frequencies, its easier to reference a post...

    Just trying to find where in my allowed frequency range is a good place on ssb to monitor

    28.400 to start and then anywhere from .300 to .500 is all you have for phone.

    On edit - BTW, 28.400 is a calling frequency.

    Listen across the entire range from 28.3 to 28.5. If there's activity, listen. No activity? Keep tuning. There is no "best" place to listen when you have 200 KHz of band space and no designated "calling" frequency.
