I bought a used Omni C 546 and would like to know where to plug my Morse key.

Er, the phono connector on the back labelled 'Key' - or has something weird happened?

You should have gotten an operating manual with the Omni. If not, you should be able to find one with a few minutes on Google.

My key has a 1/8"plug, can I just cut the 1/8" plug off and splice the wires?

er..... yes. It's just a connector and a switch. The ham radio hobby is all about experimenting and trying things out - I can't believe you didn't just stick a small screwdriver in the 'hole' and see if it transmitted. As for splicing? Solder would be a better solution and a phono connector, but a twist and tape joint is more in the ham spirit - as in bodge!
