In my workshop I have a boombox AM/FM radio. I don't get good reception from my favorite FM station. The boombox has a telescoping antenna, I've built a folded dipole using 300 Ohm twin lead centered on the FM broadcast band. I need to build a balan to match the folded dipole to the input impedance of the radio. Does any body know what the typical input impedance is for this kind of radio?

300Ω - depends on the radio. I doubt you'll need a balun in reality.
You could try inductive coupling to the rod antenna, simply a coil in close proximity to the rod, wired to the "radio" end of the 300Ω antenna...
