Default BNC connector on back panel of IC-271A

    Hello all,

    I've recently purchased an Icom IC-271A all-mode 2m transceiver.
Can anyone tell me why there is a BNC (female) on the back panel?
I have downloaded the appropriate user and service manuals to
    no avail.

It must be an aftermarket mod/accessory, the position of the socket will probably tell you what it's supposed to be...

As Dem said, it is probably a mod, maybe for a transverter?
    Can you post a picture?

Thanks for the feedback. I opened up the case to find that there was nothing connected to the centre of the BNC connector. However attached to the ground tag was a 22 ohm resistor and a o.1 micro farad ceramic capacitor. Possibly an unfinished mod or experiment.
