    Default GPS or No GPS

Looking at a dmr HT either a radiodity or retevis and modes are available with or without GPS. Do I need it? What can I do with it?

I have the Tyter DM-380, a popular radio wch works very well.

I did look at GPS, but couldn’t personally work out the added benefit, do didn’t bother.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

In addition to aprs, With Dstar there is dprs, this show how far away the station is and in what direction. I find that to be intetesting but not critical information.

However, if I was laying on the ground with a broken leg calling for help on my HT. My location would be critical information.

Get the built in GPS, if you don't you'll always wonder what you are missing.
