While I am not a ham radio operator I do have an interest in ham radio and QSL cards, specifically from the island of Okinawa from 1946 to 1948. I have an Okinawa history website and a page on my site devoted to ham radio operators on Okinawa just after the end of WWII. Ham radio operators were important enough to the US military on Okinawa just after the war that they included them in the official military phone book. Dependents were just arriving on Okinawa to join their husbands and communication with relatives in the US was very difficult. These ham operators filled a critical role in allowing the dependents to talk to relatives in the states. Eventually MARS took over this role. Here is the link to my Ham Radio page on my website, you may find some of the photos and QSL cards of interest. QSL cards from Okinawa from 1946 to 1948 are difficult to find and if you can help me find more of them please send me a private message.
