Thread: Isolation between Tx antennas

    Default Isolation between Tx antennas

    Hi

I have a question on isolation between tx antennas where 2 or more transmitter may be transmitting at the same time, thus causing intermodulation. I have seen different ways of solving this problam, tx combiners etc. I want to know how much isolation is actually needed to prevent intermod. How do you calculate the isolation needed between tx'er?

A diplexer can be used for 2 transmitters (or 2 antennas), quite easy to make:-

How much power will you be using, I have 25W at 2m and a few hundred mW on 70cm, never had any problems with that.

If you intend to transmit on the same band, you'll need to mute the receiver while the transmitter is active.

Give us a bit more on your scenario...
