    Angry Ham band.

Ok so no one get's me wrong I like the Ham band http://hamband.com/html/the_ham_band.html . I like the music, I listened to some of there song's on YouTube and decided to buy the cd. Filled out the form Hit submit. Waiting with anticipation to hear the other music. And the site dings at me and says that I can not use free email services such as. Aol gmail etc. This made me really mad since I do not have a paid email service (I am only fifteenth so why would I. So this is more of a rant then anything. I would think That trying to sell something They would accept free email services because almost every one uses them. This is way I like radio. Nothing much to mess around with but getting your license then your set, Unlike the World Wide Web. Thanks for taking the time to read.

That's unusual because most sites recognise gmail, even my credit card company does and it makes sense because if I change ISP then I don't have to change email address.

Just on a different track, a few years ago I was trying to find prices of flights to Hong Kong, one of the carriers Cathay Pacific rejected my request because I wasn't using Internet Explorer. I emailed them that I felt discriminated because I made the choice that I didn't want to use any Microsoft products and use Linux instead and as a result they likely had lost a sale.

The next day I received an email apologising and said that they had spoken to their web designers and now it would accept any operating system and browser, I was impressed.

It might be worth sending the site admin an email explaining your situation and asking if there is some way of resolving it.

That is unusual. Some web forums won't let you sign up with free email accounts, one that comes to mind is Hamradiodeals, not permitting Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail, but its uncommon. I use a Yahoo account for most web purchases to avoid the possibility of my main accounts attracting spam, never ever a problem. Hamband.com must be the exception. I'd complain to them, and if they don't back down, and you still want to buy, consider getting someone else to make the purchase.

I used to use my ISP's provided email service, but it became a nightmare each time I changed ISP. I had to trawl through all my online accounts and make sure I had updated the email address given to them before changing over, and I always ended up missing a few. Who has the time for that these days? Online activity has soared beyond imagination in the last thirty years.

I understand why sites don't like transient email addresses, but there are other ways to prevent spammers, or bad apples. Now, if a website wont accept my 'cloud based' email account. It doesn't get my 'business'.
