That's unusual because most sites recognise gmail, even my credit card company does and it makes sense because if I change ISP then I don't have to change email address.
Just on a different track, a few years ago I was trying to find prices of flights to Hong Kong, one of the carriers Cathay Pacific rejected my request because I wasn't using Internet Explorer. I emailed them that I felt discriminated because I made the choice that I didn't want to use any Microsoft products and use Linux instead and as a result they likely had lost a sale.
The next day I received an email apologising and said that they had spoken to their web designers and now it would accept any operating system and browser, I was impressed.
It might be worth sending the site admin an email explaining your situation and asking if there is some way of resolving it.

since I do not have a paid email service (I am only fifteenth so why would I. So this is more of a rant then anything. I would think That trying to sell something They would accept free email services because almost every one uses them. This is way I like radio. Nothing much to mess around with but getting your license then your set, Unlike the World Wide Web. Thanks for taking the time to read.
