Want to upgrad to General now. Suggestions?

I’ve been a license ham since 1995, but never went beyond my first license class. I’m ashamed to say, I’ve talked on my radios very little over the years. However I have had a recent interest again, but want to use the HF bands more (DX), so I really need to upgrade to General. I just ordered the ARRL study manual that should be arriving soon. I’ve found a couple online sites that do practice testing and I can see I still have a lot to learn. Any suggestions on study material or techniques I can use? I have a Yaesu FT847, so I can get on the air and listen, but my license class limits me to 10M voice. I do not know code and not really sure I want to put in the effort to learn it.

I bought an ARRL 7th General study manual with CD. I read the book and have been practicing with the CD on my computer doing practice Exams, but it does not give you the correct answers when you get one wrong. But I found a website where I could take practice exams and it would correct my wrong answers as I go, so that helped me a lot. Monday I found a testing session and put my name on the list and been cramming ever since. I took the General Exam today (Saturday morning) and passed. So I’ve upgraded and the new license should be arriving in a few weeks. Now I’m wondering if I should try to upgrade to Amateur Extra?
