    Default YAESU Scanning issues

    Hi All

I have a question on set-up scanning on my Yaesu ft-60r. I just received it for Christmas and I'm having troubles with the scanning. I would like to scan the channels that i put in the
memory. So far i have 8 that i use and would like to scan just those channels , is this possible?? The manual isn't real clear on what I want to do. Thanks I advance. FB

The instruction manual is your friend.

    Page 37. Memory scanning

Enter Memory mode: Use the V/M button to switch between VFO mode and Memory mode.

Enter scan mode: Press the (UP)MHz or (DOWN)MHz button for a long second to start scanning.

Exit scan mode: To cancel scanning, press the PTT switch or V/M key.

This radio does lots of stuff. Make yourself a nice hot drink, find a nice comfy seat and RTFM.

I have read page 37, I have tried the proceedure several times. I need it to scan just the 8 freq. I've entered not everything the radio will pick up. what is RTFM??

If you have followed the instructions on entering frequencies into memory and then followed the instructions on how to switch to memory mode, and then how to start the memory scan function and it's not working for you. Perhaps you will need to sit down with someone who is familiar with the radio.

Trying to diagnose where someone is going wrong over forum posts is very tricky. It would probably take two minutes with someone sitting with you.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile visiting a local club?

    Thumbs down

First off Let me address the multiple threads started by yours truly. I have never seen a forum where the Moderator had to read and approve the thread and reply's before they are
shone. The whole point is to get real time response's by folks as the problems are unfolding. Not wait for how ever long it takes the Mod. to read and approve the response.
So therefore I thought since I was a Noobie with a first time question, I figured my question didn't get through waiting approval of membership. So I waited a little while and re-posted
the same question. But then again with the response I received from the first person, basically telling me to sit down and read the F_____G manual, I can see why you have to do it.
Not once was there a welcome to the forum, or welcome to the hobby, or for that matter anything that was encouraging at all. If you can not respond to peoples questions in a pleasant manner maybe you all shouldn't respond to the questions if you don't have anything encouraging to say. This obviously isn't a forum that's family friendly, positive, and willing to help.
So I have found another Forum that was willing to help regardless of the question and I got the problem resolved in a timely manner with real time help.
    Best wish's and God Bless.

Sorry I didn't say "welcome to the forum".

Sorry I bothered trying to help.

    Best wishes and God Bless.
