Default FT-1000MP main receiver rolls and stops at 30MHz

    Hello,
I have recently purchased a FT-1000MP (manuf 1997). Powered it on. Everything seems to be all right apart the the Main Receiver stops at 30MHz all the time. Cannot select any other frequency. Whether I choose one of the ham freq (1.8, 3.5 etc) or enter it manually or use the shuttle the freq of the main receiver rolls straight back, like is scanning, to 30MHz and stays there.
Anyone else experienced something like this?
    Julian.

Last time I used a transceiver was 20 years ago, a FT-250 (I think). I am new to FT-1000s and above. Where is this scan button more exactly? Cannot figure out.

I'd recommend resetting the radio (as per the handbooks instructions) and read the sections on SCAN and how to enable and disable.

Tried all resets. Also read the scan menu. Did a CPU check. Went through various settings, but no results. Same thing, goes to 30MHZ and stays there no matter what.
