Default Smartrigs? like smartphones, anyone make?

Was playing with a few smartphones, with Andriod and such. These are like subminiaturized computers with an RF section for the cell radio bands. Was wondering if anyone makes say a 2M "smartrig" that runs on something similar to Andriod, that you can run 3rd party apps on (say a packet radio app, or one of the newer digital modes). Essentially a handheld general purpose computer with a radio attached. Oh, I know of software defined radios, which I suppose could become more similar to a smartphone. You could have an app for finding the local repeaters by typing the name of the city you're traveling in, get a list and select a repeater off teh list, and you'd be tuned onto that repeater, PL tones and all.

There is an Echolink app for Android, which works quite well, or, you could install Teamviewer and control your shack P.C. from your Android...

There's also a Scanner app (can't remember what it's called now) that you can tune into Amateur repeaters, amongst other things.

Most amateurs are just coming to terms with FM modulation. Integrating a PC into a 2m radio might be more than many of them could cope with.
