    Default Half a KHz

    Hi,
I want to tune to a frequency using .5KHz settings. For example 144.9375. My VHF set tunes in 1KHz steps, there are no 12.5KHz settings.
My question is if I tune to 144.937 will I hear the the station on this frequency or will I never hear it or any other station that uses a .5KHz in its transmitting/receiving frequencies. Unless of course they are not on the exact frequency. Until I wanted to listen to a packet BBS I was quite happy with my set, I've only had it for 15 years and I still have to refer to the manual. (After I've tried everything else)

500Hz is not much on NBFM - you should be able to decode packets easily enough...
