Default FT8900 - Can I config a Split Squlech tone?

Does anyone know if I can enter a split squlech tone on the FT8900r? (different for TX & RX).

    If so, how?

    Thanks !
    Brent

    No.

Check page 29 of the manual.

The new FT-7900 allows you to do this, but the older FT-7800 didn't. So it would appear to be only on the newer radios.

Perhaps if they release an update to the FT-8900 they will update this feature as well.

    Thanks !

I had come to that conclusion. But it turns out I did not need it. I was having a brain fart. I wanted to configure x-band repeat, but only for the uplink. I just needed to use simplex on the repeaters input freq. Duh!!

You could program up a separate memory for each 'side' of the radio with different CTCSS/DCS settings, so you could get around it that way if you ever did need it for X-Band repeat.

Buy the G4HFQ software for that radio and a programming cable and then you can look at what is in the radio and how it is programmed.
The input PL I believe is called DCS and the output is called CTCSS..

If you have not already purchased this program - it is strongly advised to do so.

Programming that particular radio is a real bear without it.
Bob Freeth - UK - is a real nice guy and helped me to program my radio personally when I did not understand how to interface the cable with the computer and radio.
I know he did not make a thin dime - after calling me across the pond on a Saturday Morning for about a half an hour to help me out.
