Electret-type microphone inserts usually take a Voltage, there is normally a 5V pin on the microphone socket for this:-

Hello
I have an Yaesu VX-8R and want to connect en external home made headset.
I buyed the TC-M11 cable to do this.
I connected the micro to the pins 1 and 6 (micro + 2.2kohm paralell)
Wenn i push the switch, the radio send but the voice is too low to understand... i tryed with different micro and i always cant ear something... the mic gain is 9.
The radio is OK, i try with an MH-74 micro and it work fine.
Must i give power or something to the micro ?
