I'll more than likely be going along to M4U and operating multi-single. Hope condx are better than for much of WAE!
With CQWW SSB fast approaching what's everyone's plans? Multi-Multi, Multi/*, Single op for the whole weekend or just Search and pounce working that new DX station?

Still a while to go but my plans will be snagging that team of A5's and TX5A... if I haven't already got them pre-contest.
Otherwise, just yearly bandfill hunting and giving points to the more relaxed contest ops that catch my ear
Never really liked WAE... with all that infuriating QTC nonsense

http://www.andybright.com/m6bbc.html A bit silly but it whiled away a hot Sunday afternoon.
I'll either be at M2W or at home operating M0HTJ.
If I do from home need to work out a plan to operate for as much of the weekend, preferably without too many distractions.

Am I right in thinking this is the contest that people will be happy with my 59-14?
Not sure I'll get as far North as Oxford tho!!![]()

I'm trying to get all zones as my weekend target.. bit worried about zone 39 though.
Picked up A52AB earlier today, so that was one mission accomplished.

Im on 17m. Its not I have a philosophical objection to contests, but that I am not equipped to enter them, or particularly motivated too. Each to thier own.
I'm enjoying it, currently around 320 Qs, 75 countries with 7 new ones.

I did about 200 in my spare time.
I was not proud of the ones that I called CQ and the only ones I logged were the clubs and stuff that I picked out of the noise of the 10 meters band.
The ones that I was the most proud of were Hawaii and Japan and Alaska - they came in loud and clear, right before the band fell into the noise in the early evening saturday.
I don't contest, but I figured that it would be good practice to listen to the call signs, look each call sign up before responding and logging them into QRZ.com
All I have for a antenna is the Solorcon 99a verticle and my Kenwood TS 590S radio - 100 watts. So to have solid S-9 signal reports in several directions at the same time was pretty unique for me. I talked to Brazil and Russia in a matter of 2 minutes time apart. I was able to pick some call signs out of the noise 1 kc apart and answer them and get 5/9 signal reports every time. Not something I could have done with a cheaper radio i'm sure.
You must remember that those 5-9 reports are meaningless. You could have been 3-1 but in a contest situation you'll always be given 5-9.
I'm not sure why you're bringing the cost of the radio into it![]()
