    Default Top Band - 160m

    Heard some guys being very casual on there the other night at 0000z - any of you fellas ever operated there? The noise seems pretty bad....

    I suppose the noise depends on your location, but its pretty bad here also (Northern England) as indeed 80 metres..generally S5 - 8

    I quite often put a call out on 160 but very rarely get a reply, it is a pity because I can hear other stations on mainland Europe but no one from G. Agreed, the noise is high, but when I do hear a station they are generally workable above the noise.
