    Default Heathkit rf oscillator

A guy sold me one of these last weekend at a yard sale. I'm too new and inexperienced to know anything about it, but it looks like new. The model is lG-5280. Can someone tell me exactly what it's purpose is? It looks interesting, but I know nothing about it. I did open it up and it looks neatly assembled, and requires two batteries for power. I'd appreciate any information.

It's a reference device, it can produce low levels of R.F. usually used to check if something is resonant
