I picked up a Kenwood TS-440S/AT with matching external speaker SP-430 and MC-60 Desk mike the other day.

I went to look at the radio unsure if it was the right radio for my shack being quite an old radio. However The audio quality of the radio suits me well. it sounds better than the yaesu 1000mp that the club i goto has, that is i can hear the incoming signals through the noise better. The chap i was buying it from answered a cq call on 20m and his callsign was returned immediatley. When i had a go i too was answered straight away both on 20m and 17m. I was very happy and that sealed the deal.

Excellent! I'm listening to 40m at the moment but kind of surfing the bands to see whats about. Tried to reply to M0IAA in Wakefield but didn't get through...
