Hi i have the omni v, and it now has a fault on 80 mtrs. tune along the band and it has birdis that move down tha band any help would be nice thanks for looking dave gw0dxo@yahoo.co.uk

if it is only in certain band only, I suspect band crystal OSC. or band pass filter
if you have another receiver can receive HF band, you can open up the case, and tune to those crystal OSC frequency and hear if they are oscillating properly.
that is how I trouble shooted my TEN TEC OMNI-V when 17 mtr and 10 B quit working, 17 and 10 B use same local BAND crystal OSC. when I touched the crystal it start to oscillating, and I pulled out PCB and re-solder the crystal and near by parts, that seems to fixed the problem I had.
