As the forum has a very low user base, would you PLEASE consider turning forum caching off?

Seeing out of 'date' post info on the right hand side of the forum front page is driving me nuts. No wonder people think the site isn't used. Even their own posts don't show up!
I posted this question a while back, but haven't seen an answer. Is it possible to disable the caching?

Unless you're running the forum from a bedroom server, I wouldn't have thought that 100X the current user base would stress the database server.

Having the forum show up to date post information would be good.

Pete 2E0SQL will reply with proper answer when he returns from Isle of Arran, but this site isn't the only one we run on our server, and by no means the biggest.

Basically the answer is No, the caching will not be turned off.

If I'm totally honest I find that last part rather rude and shows your lack of understanding.. a user base means nothing in relation to the amount of traffic a website receives which is quite high regardless if anyones posting.. The caching is to ease the load on the database server which not only supports this site but many others we run and we have to keep all the sites within the network running smoothly. I honestly don't know why you'd suggest the forum was run on a bedroom server and its rather insulting even if it was meant in a joke way.

    Caching will remain on.

No rudeness intended. It was an honest and well intentioned question.

I peruse a number of forums on a number of different subjects, that are run by all sorts of different people, on all sorts of servers, from bedrooms to commercial, and this is the first forum I have ever encountered that has such a slow update time.

You may have noticed (or you may not) that I have tried to actively post and engage in a positive manner on a range of subjects across the forum. My intention isn't to belittle your efforts or insult your setup. I just assumed that you actually wanted a vibrant and active forum.

From my perspective and as a potentially regular user, this would be helped by a website that remains up to date and doesn't appear to be lagging.

    Caching will remain on.
    That's fine, it's your forum.

With regards to the right hand side bar, I've done some research (guess you could say I RTFM) and found a setting which may help.

    Code:
    Disable Block Cache
    Leave this setting alone.
I've enabled, although it says to leave this alone. Might help, still reading the vB forums in regards to this, and if I find why they say leave alone I may have to disable again.
