My assumption that the cap of the pyramid was covered in gold electrum seems correct as documented by the British Musuem - http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/pyramids/story/page7.html
If you think this is not relevant or needs deleting - then please do, but if anyone is remotely interested I would like to hear your theories.
It involves the Great pyramid at Giza, The Ark of the covenant, Similar pyramid sites around the world, some recorded history and myth..... and it's a theory linked to Radio !
First to link two of them together;-
The Ark of the covenant was said to have been taken from Egypt by Moses. Moses was first let go no problem, but when the Pharoh heard he'd taken the Ark with him - he went after him. The precise dimensions and construction of the box the ark was in are given.
Inside the Great Pyramid, in the Kings chamber, there is a granite box - with exactly the same internal dimensions. It is therefore possible to imagine that this thing was not created by the Egyptians - but found by them within the great pyramid.
A note on the age of the Great Pyramid;-
None of the Egyptian texts ever say that they built this one. All the others are richly decorated inside and out, but not one single inscription is on the great pyramid - save for a scrawled inscription in the hidden upper roof area 'discovered' by a researcher who was desparate to prove it was built by Khufu. The inscription read - "this was built for Khufu" - and they even spelt his name wrong.
The same team carved their own hieroglyphics on the outside of the entrance - untill that time there was no inscriptions anywhere.
Discovering electrostatics -
One researcher, after climbing to the top of the pyramid, celebrated by a servant pouring a glass of wine for him. Upon handing it over - an electric spark jolted the pair. To repeat the test, the bottle was wrapped in a wet cloth to form a primative leyden jar - and sparks were seen from the mouth of the bottle.
The missing capstone -
It is called the golden pyramid - for no obvious reason,
but the Egyptians had a habbit of erecting pillars outside their temples - made of granite, but on the very tips, they fashioned metal caps made from a gold alloy called "Electrum"
Why would they adorn all the pillars (which incidentally have a pyramid shape at the top) - with a little gold pyramid - yet leave the biggest monument in the world without a cap?
It is therefore a reasonable assumption that this too had a gold structure on the top.
- So now we have a gold tipped device that accumulates electrostatic potential......interested yet ?
If you look at a plan of the great Pyramid, you will see two very small "airshafts" exiting perpendicular to the outside faces on the north and south faces - and meeting in a central room - the kings chamber.
It was only after learning a bit about radio, that I came upon the inverted dipole antenna - and the quad antenna.
Looking at the plan of the pyramid again, it begins to look like a substantial transmitter of either the inverted dipole or quad design !
.... But you need more than a supply and an aerial to be a transmitter...
You need a serious groundplane...
At the base of the great Pyramid - is a wellshaft. Nobody knows why it is there - it's just a shaft down to porous sandstone and the water table. -This would function as our groundplane I think.
.. You need to be able to store the charge.
This is where I think the Ark of the covenant comes in - because it is desribed as having "a series of ten plates arranged inside an insulating box - with two gold cherubs on the lid" If each plate was as described - 6 hands by 7 hands - that's aproximately 2ft square.
At the moment, I am thinking of the ark as either a capacitor, a battery- or the radio itself (with large circuit boards arranged neatly in a frame)
Has anyone even made the connection between the names used here - Ark and Electrum?
One last thing to ponder - Moses was said to have studied a lot in Egypt - and that he studied "Resonance"...... He was also known to "cause the waves to stand up upon one another" - with the help of the Ark. Maybe he was the very first radio ham ?
Make of that what you will.
That's it for now - I can add more, but if it's deleted it is a bit of a waste.
My assumption that the cap of the pyramid was covered in gold electrum seems correct as documented by the British Musuem - http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/pyramids/story/page7.html
I've seen some seriously weird and contrived antenna constructions, but that would definitely have taken the prize for Most Solid Construction!![]()
Who would it have been used to talk to?
No one extraterrestrial, that's for sure.
Great 'theory' though, ever watched Stargate SG1 by any chance?![]()
I can only theorise on this one - but I suggest - other pyramid structures on other continents. It may just be a coincidence that most of the other pyramids are not very far from the equator, and that the shafts are north-south orientation - giving a directed beam in that direction.
I'm an engineer, so don't do fantasy much. I'm more interested in finding practical reasons for why and how some things were made. There are far too many things explained away as "religious reasons". If it started raining fish (and it has) - I would rather blame a typhoon than an act of God.
There are plenty of interesting artifacts found that defy easy explanation, but sometimes you have to read between the lines of myths and recorded history to find the one bit of truth in them. I hope to focus here on the bits and pieces that individually are oddities, but together make something that may have existed - but was not understood, and was considered magical at the time.
I'll try and post my sources as I go along for you. -
In 1847,Werner Von Siemens (yes THAT siemens ) showed that the pyramid generated static electricity. The Seimens family were engineers, industrialists and inventors held in high regard and were the early pioneers in the field of electricity. Sir William converted the wine bottle by wrapping some moistened newspaper around it, as the static charge at the peak of the pyramid was so high that sparks began to stream from the bottle. The records show that the guide was so shocked that he accused Sir William of Witchcraft and tried to grab the bottle, but an electrical jolt knocked the guide unconscious.

Page 187 (I'd use the copy of the origal book - very good information on cable laying and telegraphy)
I like your theory. Based on the size of this construction, what would be the frequency ? Somewhere in the LF range ? Who would have such knowledge back in the day to build this ?
BR
Most of the pyramids seem to be connected with Archaeoastronomy and there is a suggestion that they are aligned with the Plough Constellation in the northern hemisphere (easy way to work out where north is at night if you have clear skies).
I would be interested in any connection with the pyramids to the earth's natural electrical belt (caused by the speed of its rotation), in the UK these are generally called ley lines although they when first written/proposed in 1921 they were described as the "Old Straight Track" however the electrical lines which mark out such tracks are anything but straight (I think the electrical thing is key here).
The best example here is the ancient track way called the Icknield Way which runs from Norfolk down to Avebury (the southern section is now called the ridgeway), interesting fact is the track way follows two ley lines (the Mary line and the Micheal line, these ley lines are not straight but criss cross and inter wine at various points (normally at somewhere significant).
The both the Mary and Michael lines make land fall in the UK at St Micheals Mount in Cornwall and they wind there way up in a north eastern direction, they cross at places like Glastonbury, Avebury and Royston Cave, normally churches are named after which ever line they sit on (St Marys/St Micheal). Both lines leave the UK on the Norfolk coast and they have been found in Sweden and Russia (they head out into the Arctic Ocean near Murmansk).
To take the idea a bit further, I have a friend who lives in Kent who is a medium and I was invited down one Friday evening in early summer to place called Kits Coty.
Kits Coty is on Blue Bell Hill and is an ancient megalith (the stones infact are the same as those at Stonehenge but were probably brought to area by ice flows at the end of the last Ice Age. The stones were in fact used as a decorative entrance to barrow (burial chamber) which has long since been destroyed, two ley lines cross the site. It is also believed to be site of a few battles including where Hengist and Horsa treacherously turned on the Romano British who had invited them here to protect them from the Saxons (the ground is said to have soaked up a lot of blood).
The Blue Bell Hill area around Kits Coty is notorious for its road ghost phenomenon, even hundreds of years ago there are tales of cart horse riders being accosted by an old crone (she last seen by a motorist late one night very near to Kits Coty a few years ago). There is a lot accidents involving cars in the area plus a helicopter belonging to the the Kent Air Ambulance crashed nearby in the 90's.
I have to say its one of the few places I have visited where I have felt real energy, in the 90's the occurrences of strange happenings increased when a dual carriageway bypass was built and a broadcast transmitter (TV/Radio) was built on Blue Bell Hill and switched on. More recently the Channel Tunnel High Speed rail link (HS1) was built going under Blue Bell Hill so the area is full of electromagnetic fields from radio and electricity supplies.
kitscotypic.jpg This is a picture taken at Kits Coty from a 2003 visit, next to the Stones, we have no idea what it is that can be seen in the photo, wasn't visible at the time
Some people may think its mumbo jumbo, but there's definitely areas of scientific investigation involving physics and geology that could help a few things going on in the area. How you would measure RF fields at such a site? And would you know what to look for?
I did see a video posted on Youtube (unfortunately don't have the link) but it was of a US ham operator who was investigating whether his mobile operation would work better in the general area to where the US Navy used to have a VLF station to communicate with submarines (the area was considered special because of the type of rock formation in the ground although rare was perfect for radio), all I can remember it was in the Eastern US and was a wilderness area.
One last thought, our brains are full of electrical impulses, what if those impulses are connected (in some way we don't yet understand) with those of the earth?

This was taken at Kits Coty in May 2009, the mist wasn't visible at time the picture was taken nor was anybody smoking.
One of the problems with paranormal investigation and investigation of ancient relics and 'mysteries', is the very common phenomenon of people hijacking it for personal ego reasons.
You know the types, you see them on certain TV channels late at night "exposing" yet another haunted house with no actual real evidence.
I can understand why 'real' scientists keep away from anything that even slightly looks 'paranormal'.
I remember reading an Erich von Däniken book as a young man and being very impressed and partially convinced by his arguments and his carefully referenced 'facts'. It wasn't until a few years later, when a TV documentary exposed the glaring misrepresentations in his supposed facts, that I realised that people make shit up.![]()
wasn't cold that evening, hadn't rained
I agree with you, I can't stand "Most Haunted" as its all role play and made up, the real stuff would probably be very boring for tv, the other thing is that in certain circumstances it is good business for certain sites (that charge) to say that something paranormal goes on there, one of the latest is the Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear bunker in Essex, which plays on the gloomy "what if" scenario that bit the dust when the Berlin Wall came down. Why would a facility like a Regional Command Centre like that be haunted? yet its on the ghost tours.

Nice photo - particularly the first. I do believe that there is more going on in this universe than we are aware of, and that science is somehow slightly scared of the things that it cannot explain. I also agree with 2E0JTP that there is money to be made convincing people - even if it just leads to a string of books and a mini series.
Back to the facts - what there are left of them...
The Djed pillar, and Osiris are almost inseperable within Egyptian carvings and legend. So much so, that the Djed pillar is said to "be the backbone of Osiris" - and it could be interpreted as a set of ribs off a backbone. It does resemble it a bit. Some drawings have it as a person, others as a Djed pillar with arms and a head. Fundamentally it looks like this -but may be drawn thus -
or even this -
It appears as a pillar - not supporting anything - but with great significance. Is totally unlike the palms and pillars normally seen, and has power (of some sort)
Note how closely it resembles both a large insulator -
- And Marx generators - http://www.thelivingmoon.com/47john_.../madan1_01.jpg
http://www.kronjaeger.com/hv/hv/pro/marx/index.html
Some of the paintings we find are pictured with stars between the top plates only. Could this be a depiction of electrostatic charge or discharges ?
Later, (presumably when things were no longer working) - there arose a fertility ritual in Egypt - of taking out the Djed pillar into the fields (on a sledge) -and attatching kites to it. Again, this is remeniscent of Franklins experiment of flying a kite in a storm - to attract natural lightening.
It seems to be over 8 Feet tall; There are carvings paintings statues and amulets - yet where is it ?
The clue may be within the story of Osiris -
http://www.egyptianmyths.net/mythisis.htm
Shorter version here -
http://www.akhet.co.uk/isisosir.htm
Essentially - A wooden box was made - sealed with molten lead (soldered ?) - or a security seal ?
- and he (it) was floated down the Nile
- whereupon it was taken out - cut up into 14 pieces, and the pieces burried by Isis in different towns in the area.
Rather a strange thing to do to a body - but if it were a technology you were trying to hide - it does make some sense.
She then returned - and assembled the pieces - all except one that was lost - and "breathed life into him" (it)
This again would hold true for a thing rather than a person.

Now for one of the biggies - The Dendera lightbulb !
In the temple to Hathor in Denderea Egypt, is a carved relief of a rather startling appearance -
To the rear, and down a small pit - are some more pictures of the same thing -
And finally -
What is interesting - despite an explanation of it being a lotus flower, is the three pictures are a progression of experiments.
In the first - the snake 'filament' is fairly straight
In the second - it is seen reflected by a steel knife,
and in the third - two tubes are opposed - seeing both 'filaments' reflected.
Notice also the shape of the supporting pillar beneath them - designed for high voltage perhaps.
Normal lighting fillaments are not effected this way..... But electron beams are
Electron beams are repelled by magnetised items - and by another similar beam.
Could it be possible they manufactured evacuated glass tubes, coated them in phosphors, and conducted experiments with high voltages themselves? Highly unlikely. I believe it is more likely they found these wonderous things and tried to make sense of them. There are a few stories of mistakes being made - pictures of baboons at various places to signify that only fools would dare to get close to those areas.
Dendera could be one of the places that Isis hid parts, or at least is a mystery all by itself.
Perhaps you are superimposing modern technological designs on ancient artwork/sculptures?
You have to ask yourself, how do people decide what something should look like?
They use accumulated experience, knowledge and design constants.
We are creatures of habit and conformity. It's the only explanation I have for modern "democracy".![]()
A couple of years more digging and I have more evidence.
I'ts all rather clever as certain parts are used in ways we haven't thought of yet - like the "star shafts"
Imagine if you will a single insulated cable runing out of the kings chamber - up the north star shaft to the outside, then up to connect with the gold peak( - acting as a flat plate antenna), then another cable also connected to that peak running down the opposite side to the southern "star shaft", then back down into the kings chamber - to connect as a complete circuit with a mica and silver plate capacitor housed in a box in the centre.
What shape antenna have I got ?
To add to the design, I take an earth (from the wellshaft) up to the Queens chamber, and split it to feed two more shafts up and out to the outer faces, then lower the wires to the ground on each side. (Look at the blocks - and the copper wires through them.)
This seems to act as a reflector to the resonant loop antenna above.
Has anyone thought about adding groundplanes to a resonant loop antenna yet? - sort of like two sloping dipoles as an inverted V with the bases earthed and the tips connected ?
The thing with this is it incorporates a flat (ish) plate antenna at the top that Tesla was experimenting with, and this adds potential to the whole thing.
It's a resonant loop antenna and flat plate antenna combined, with added groundplanes - or planes in antiphase to the loop.
I'm guessing at aiming the frequency in a multiple of 7Hz - which is what the acoustic resonance of the pyramid has been measured as being.
Given time I could calculate the length of the loop to within few feet.
