    Default 185-190 MHZ sound?

    Hello everyone,

My name is Chris, I live in Baltimore, MD. I have an old worldstar radio that I use to listen to various things. It picks up from 54-160KHZ, 4-12, 88-174MHZ, and a tv band that just picks up static (probably due to the conversion to digital), and I come across this odd sound on approx 187mhz (my needle is not too accurate)

It has a beeping sound approx. every second, with some morse code every once in a while, and a very strange sound that sounds random but is not (it repeats the same every time)

Does anyone know what this could be? It's been running continuously since at least 2005 when I first discovered it.

Try to decode the Morse, beacons usually ID with CW, although it is probably a harmonic from 2m...

may be VOR from 108 to 118 MHz ? they send 3 digit morse code ID slowly. and ID repeat at certain interval.

Did you try to record a wave file? Try recording a wav file and upload to megaupload (likely too big for an attchment here) and then post the download link here. I'd like to analyze the sound myself.
