    Default Sunspot 1092

Had a massive eruption last Sunday.

The solar storm from this is due to reach the UK around 11pm (23:00) GMT and North America 5pm (PDT) tomorrow 4th Aug.

As well as a good chance of seeing the "northern lights" over the UK and N America this storm is going to ionise the atmosphere like crazy.

If NASA have their projections about this correct, bands will be opening like never before for 24-36 hours during this event.

A lot of hype with this news release.
Yep, good for auroral propagation, a downer for most of us on HF. This is an impending magnetic storm, and not a real big one in the scheme of things (the flare was only C3 level). Sunspot 1092 is a pretty lifeless affair as far as things go and the F layer ain't going to be bouncing much off of it when those A and K indices start climbing
