FT-8800R PMS operation

I'm trying to limit scanning using L1, U1 etc memory locations. On page 42 of the user manual step 2 says "Using the techniques learned earlier, store x into L1..."

I can't for the life of me find out where those "techniques learned earlier" instructions are!

Hi,

It refers to page 32.

Make sure you are in VFO mode on the desired 'band' (referring to the left or right hand side of radio).

Select the desired lower frequency.
Press and hold the [SET] key for one second.
Rotate the main 'band' DIAL knob until L1 appears.
Press the [SET] key momentarily to save the entry. If you hold the [SET] key in for longer, it allows you to program in a name.

Select the desired higher frequency.
Press and hold the [SET] key for one second.
Rotate the main 'band' DIAL knob until U1 appears.
Press the [SET] key momentarily to save the entry. If you hold the [SET] key in for longer, it allows you to program in a name.

Switch to memory mode by pressing the [V/M] key on the 'band' you have just programmed L1 and U1 into.
Rotate the 'band' DIAL knob to memory channel L1.
Press and hold the [SCN] button for half a second.

Remember, this is all specific to the 'band' (left or right DIAL knob) you have programmed the frequencies into.
