Paper log
I want a basic paper log for the time being but I do not know what headings or how many columns I should put in the thing. Is there anywhere on line that has a sample one that can be copied at all?
I will look into getting a computer logbook but I’m still looking for something simple!

I still keep a paper log, an A4 hardback cashbook type with lines drawn and the columns:-
Date, Time, Notes, Band, Emission, Power.
[edit] forgot what band I was on...

Although I've started using computer logging I still write everything into my paper log as well (except if I'm doing a long contest).
The columns are pretty straightforward:
Date, Time, Frequency, Mode, Power, Callsign, Signal report sent, Signal report received, QSL sent, QSL received, Comments.
I even tweeted a picture a few weeks ago asking if other people still kept paper logs, you can see the picture I tweeted here. That's an RSGB logbook I've had since early 1990 (can you tell I was inactive for a few years) and they still sell what looks like the same thing here.

If you have frequency instead of band, it takes longer to fill out.
Date, time, emission, power are the required (old) fields.
Half a page for notes is usually enough for the rest (qsl, names etc)...

I agree, you'll see from my log there that I only put in the actual frequency for the 50MHz QSOs and I don't even know why I did that. I've not logged a specific frequency for years apart from that.

I use the ARRL log book; RSGB has a similar one as G6NHU mentioned earlier. I've used mine since I was first licensed, and 51 years of logbooks is quite a pile. BUT, using a system of cryptic symbols on the front covers, I can easily find when I installed a new antenna, worked my 100th/200th/300th country, and my 38th/39th and YES! 40th Zone!
Transferring all the chicken-scratching to a computer log was the longest project of my life!
