RockMite Questions
hello
I am looking into getting a RockMite kit, which one should I get? 20m 40m, whats best for the novice. Next, I saw a YouTube video with a RockMite with a built in speaker, how would one do that?
thanks.

The 40m version will require a bigger antenna, but has more chance of DX after dark.
20m usually works well during sunlight hours, with a chance of good DX too.
Personally, I'd go for the 40m version, it really depends what you want to do with it (CW, SSB, PSK etc, etc)...
As for the speaker, you'd probably need a small A.F. amplifier (one scavenged from an old walkman or something) and a speaker. 2W should be enough before you need to carry huge battery packs around.
Here's a nice one using an LM380 (about $3):-

Whilst trying to find the A.F. output of the set, I found this:-

There's a load of useful stuff on there, even if I still don't know the A.F. output :/
[edit] I particularly like the MightMouse
