6m Antenna

Looking round at the cost of home base verticals...ouch.

On the other hand CB antennas are around £25 for 1/2wave, so why don't I just get one of those and tune it to 6m? (well 1/2wave at 3m, cos 1/2 27mhz antennas are 5 and bit mtrs )

You could try it - no guarantee it would be any better than a simple dipole though.

Bear in mind, there's usually a printed coil at the base of CB verticals, any mismatch with more than, say, 25W will burn it.
