Transported IC-718 from home to FD in padded case. Set up on GOTA table and had no audio thru speaker, earphones or external speaker! Incoming signal going crazy on meter, but nothing audible. Several hams worked thru manual, fiddled, etc to no avail. Suggestions?

Have you tried doing a full reset on it? Back to factory, sometimes the CPU locks up.

Thanks, we did do a reset to no avail? Best to arrange to send it to Icom and eat the expense or cheaper to buy another radio? Ha!

Its might be a capacitor somewhere, they often go with age, so it might be a few cent for a part and then the rest labour, might not be too bad. Best to get it to your local ICOM rep and demo the issue to them

James, we're the largest country town in the world... over 1 million metro, we lost our only ham store last year and have never had an Icom rep!
