HD Antenna
Would a HD antenna work on the amatuer 2 meter and 440 freq's ? They are about the right cut and dimension for those freq's and some manufactuers are stating it covers 40 thru 500 Mhz's
Just curious if one has ever tried it.

Do you mean 400 to 500MHz?
I should think it would work (at QRP).
You'd better check the coil/bandpass filter isn't a PCB type, if it is, I wouldn't feed it more than a couple of watts.
The VSWR should be less than 3:1 though as they are designed to be pretty wideband.
I tried a big TV Yagi on 70cm once and the VSWR was terrible, but that was before digital TV...
