IC7000 Icom - Wind noise on fixed station?

I've just purchased a IC7000. Although it is used in a fixed base location (not mobile), I get reports of "wind noise" when transmitting. This report is on the factory mic as well as a Heil brand. Any suggestions?

Turn the mic gain down? it's probably picking up shack fan noise...

Try txing with the mic gain down to 0, also try using the connector on the rear of the radio.

failing that, try putting a small (20pF) capacitor across the mic signal to ground

Is the noise just on SSB or other modes as well?
