    Thumbs down Unhomebrewed dipole

Well, on Friday I woke to find that some certain ovine individuals had managed to completely destroy an already damaged dipole, caused by high winds and blizzard conditions on Tuesday/Wednesday of last week. Far be it from me to approve of animal cruelty, but had I caught hold of them at the time, there'd have be low flying clouds on the horizon by now :P

I had lifted the dipole off the ground, with a view to repairing it and getting it back in the air when the snow had gone off the ground, but the little blighters managed to get hold of it, and as you can see from below, managed to unhomebrew it quite successfully :-(

Oh well! Making another one, so shall be up in the air within a week or two, when the WX improves a bit - sleet, wet ground and rain making it somewhat dangerous for a tall ladder climb at the moment.

Beware the lightning that lurketh in an undischarged capacitor lest it cause thee to be bounced upon thy buttocks in a most ungentlemanly manner!

Are you sure it wasn't the sheep? the evidence is all there...
On a camping trip to Wales once, I put up a full size 40m dipole supported by bamboo poles, looking through the binoculars from the other side of the mountain at the tent, we could see sheep rubbing themselves on the poles and chewing the ropes.
Got back a few hours later to find my beautiful erection had been ruined by the sheep - baa!
