Well done Steve!![]()
Since getting my Novice license back in 1959, I've held every class of amateur license the USA has ever had except Technician. Got my Extra in 1975. Had First Class Radiotelephone AND First Class Telegraph (commercial licenses) with all the endorsements). I'm licensed out!
I started playing radio in the 70's took foundation 2010 so intermediate I guess about 2050 should do it!!![]()
To be serious though I'm happy with what I've got, had we not got HF it would have been different.
As previous post passed Foundation so now begining Intermediate. had a look at Ham tests and did the first 10 questions. Shows how little I know!!!! got one out of ten. Anyway gets the brain cells working something different than AutoCAD. Looking forward to learning. As I have always liked morse as did it with the TA many years ago it is bringing back an interest even if it is not now needed for the Full Licence. It certainly makes me realize how little I know about electronics. Big learning curve.
Intermediate...Its time for me to move up (Looking for info is how I found this forum). I just need to find a club local enough for me to travel that are planning an exam.
Hoping to just become competant at CW at a slow speed one day....the Full will have to wait a few years I feel.
Personally I'M DONE STUDYING, for licenses anyway! WHY you may ask! Because, he says, I PASSED my EXTRA class about 3 weeks ago!!! Now all I'm waiting for is my vanity call I requested after getting a 2x2 from sequential that most have said, a mouth full and kind of had to say ..AE5ZJ
Still will continue to learn and now maybe I'll give CW a whirl!!

Delta Radio Club is putting on a GREAT deal for a course on the Advanced Exam here in Canada: $120 for 20 hrs course, including the exam. Since I've always wanted to build QRP transmitters, I'm in (it starts in Oct). I'm also studying Morse, although with my Basic+ (honours), I can transmit CW or SSB on the HF bands. But it's kinda silly to tx CW when you don't know it...

I will be upgrading to US General Class in the near future.

I'm working on Extra Class (usa), I'm hoping to take the test before they change the question pool Middle of next year.
But at the rate I'm going I'll be lucky to make it, work keeps getting in the way!!

Just passed my Advanced Exam (96%) - now I'm really dangerous!Unfortunately we don't get different callsigns in Canada when we get higher licenses.
Next step is to learn Morse Code so I can use the CW transmitter I'm building...
