    Default Kenwood TR-7400A

    Hey folks, just bought my first radio as a licensed operator, a Kenwood TR-7400A. I plan to put it in my truck as I drive about three or four hours a day. Any quirks or inside info about the TR-7400A; I want to be ready when the radio arrives.

    Just an update, the radio is installed (no PL card) with a mag-mount 5/8 wave antenna. I'm running simplex between Boston and Winchendon; roughly halfway across the state. Friday made an 24 mile contact!

    Only problems I've had is LCD boards sometimes need cleaning if numbers start disappearing.
