Not so new newb

Hello all,

I got my technician license back in 1997 as part of an emergency management training program, but haven't used it in more than 10 years. I basically don't remember the details of being licensed. Can you guys recommend some reading materials to get me back up to speed? I'd like to buy a radio and get back into ham, but not sure where to start.

Why not join the ARRL and look at the publications they offer, also get in touch with your local club and see what they do, maybe they do contests or similar.
