TinyTrack 4 from www.byonics.com is a good one if you're interested in APRS.
Thought was about time I started a post for Kits novice builders like me could put together.
If possible, kits without Surface Mount Devices (SMD) in them.
Also lets make sure they're Ham Radio related.

How about an HFPacker amp? Nice easy build.
http://www.ramseyelectronics.com/ have a downloadable catalogue (~30Mb) with a couple of pages of HAM kits.
I have built their kits in the (almost distant) past, dunno about these newfangled SMD's though.
I'm building a pair of keyers from www.hamgadgets.com for me and my daughter to practice morse on.

How about something more serious:
40m Software Defined Radio, all-mode 5W transceiver (yes, without SMD!)
