Surely its a preference, just how we have to live with their choices, surely they should be considerate to if we want to hitch up a massive tower in the back garden?

in US, there are many restriction and controversy about HAM radio antenna. specially in the city, even here in Orange County, people often go over board with size of antennas, I have seen 60 feet tower in small city lot ( 4000 sq ft ) , parts of antenna is over neighbour's property, and if those tower structure fall, parts of them go over neighbour's house. and make it worse , those people have legal limits ( 1500 watts ) linear amplifier, often those legal limits amp does 2500 watts. I think power limit based on license class like UK is better idea, and 400 watts or less limits sound about right in a city, but in rural area, I think power limits can be increased much more. stead of regulation power output, may be limiting RF field strength to nearest neighbour may be better idea for both US and UK HAMs. I think even 10kW is OK in rural area. but, crowded city 100 watts is more like it.
