Newby wants to build low cost cw / linux radio

I won't to build a small radio for CW that works with a Linux computer for the coding and decoding. What I envision is a very small all in one computer/radio that I can use to send and receive cw.

Out of curiosity, why?

I have played around with CW Get program and can get it to recognize slow code from an oscillator but nothing from qsos due to differences in styles., qrn, qrm, etc.

Maybe its just my limited experience but seems like there is no substitute for learning code
