I basically gave up hamming in the 70s due to TVI. Back then I was running a Drake 4 line. After we got our first VCR, I just couldn't cure the TVI, and gave up. How are things today, now that TV has gone digital? And are modern rigs any better in preventing problems?

Most TV equipment doesn't use R.F. for interconnects any more & modern rigs are "probably" a bit tighter on the filtering too.
VCR's can be a right b*tch when it comes to transmitters...

Hi Jeff,
Demetrius is correct most of the modern equipment doesn't have issues. I have an older TV which shows some signs of TVI on certain bands. However, all my other TV's, DVR's, etc. etc. all are OK. I live in a townhome neighborhood that is tightly controlled by an HOA. The HOA allows no antennas, but I'm getting by with a Hustler 6BTV vertical and a 20m hamstick dipole. I've verified with neighbors that they have no issues (TVI). All is good.
