If your looking at moding your black box, a great place to start is mods.dk (http://www.mods.dk/) has lots of useful information about most of the current brand radios!

Any other good sites?

I would be VERY cautious before you think about doing any of the mods on the KB2LJJ website. I did the mod for the FT-847 volume control that is on that site and it blew up my FT-847! Whilst the mod did what it was supposed to do it also managed to disable the monitor button and the RF gain dial control was completely screwed up, with the gain going up when it was turned down! ...When I tried to reverse the mod I was unsucessfull and it resulted in a blown front panel PCB board. I was very lucky that Yaesu UK had a spare front panel in stock but it cost me £150 to buy it and get the rig working again....You have been warned!
